No matter how long I’ve been gone or how many places I’ve been in my life, a large part of my very being is derived from and founded on the many wonderful experiences and memories I have of the town I grew up in - a town serenely set on the beautiful shores of Lake Erie.  It is a picturesque and rural place of grape vineyards, apple orchards and rolling tree blanketed hills so typical of the Pennsylvania countryside I know and love so well.  The high-definition images I hold of the sights, sounds, and scents of that special place of my youth are part of who I am today.  It is where I hold my roots and where I grew my wings.

I am going home soon and I will stroll through the mists of yesterday… revisiting my past and the people and places that are indelibly and beautifully etched in perpetuity on the pages of my mind.  I am going to the place where  hopes, dreams, and the very foundation of my own personal world began – a place where the past and the present converge – a place where new memories will be made and old memories will be revisited.  It is where I return year after year, knowing that no matter how long I’ve been gone……I will always always belong.

As we make our descent through the clouds over the rippling blue of the water and the rooftops of the Cape Cods and Colonials…….I will know I’m nearly there…and I will know I’m nearly home.
